Madonna = Meh!
I am so devastated that I actually put off writing this post. I didn't want to write while clouded by sadness. Yes, that's right, I saw Madonna during her one and only Canadian date of her Confessions Tour and though it may seem unbelieveable to my fellow Madge fans, MADONNA = MEH!

Madonna in MTL
So me and two my girlfriends, Annie and Cynara, took a long time awaited road trip to see Madonna in concert in Montreal. Unfortunately, we didn't come out having had the life fulfilling pop music experience that we had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, it was a really amazing show in that each song was like a different act in a play. They seemlessly changed costumes and elaborate stage sets for each song. It was really professional and from a production point of view, it was quite impressive. However, as a long time fan, going back to the "lucky star" days, I was dissapointed that after a 2.5 hour concert that I could count all the songs I knew during the night on one hand. It's not that I don't enjoy her new stuff, I guess I just haven't learned all the words to her recently released album quite yet. Another sour point was that she stood or walked around stage to sing most of her songs while her dancers mimicked animals and did random acrobatics on different parts of the stage. I guess I was expecting the Madonna I know and love: a true pop queen; the one who's super energetic and dancing the concert through with her dancers.
Anyhow, I have to hand it to her. By playing almost only new stuff, she's certainly making a statement that her current music is her best. I guess I am still dilusional and in love with the once "material girl."

Can't we agree to keep right?
I swear this is my BIGGEST pet peeve: People who don't know sidewalk etiquette.
People do not know how to share a sidewalk, walk in malls or navigate tight areas... You've got walking groups who don't move to let one person who is oncoming get by without getting smucked by a car or faceplant into a mall window. You've got people who hold all their baggage on the inside of the sidewalk lane so it is impossible for you to get by without tripping on a fire hydron or bumping into a parking meter. You've got people who give that square in the eyes look that says "Sister, I am strutting down the middle and I am not moving for you." Then you have the crowded aisle people who proceed like a herd trying to enter a single doorway at the same exact time.
We seem to be able to share the road moving at different paces while heading to individual destinations. So speaking in a Canadian-context, as pedestrians can't we all just agree to keep right?
Anyway, I am upset over 2 sidewalk spilled coffees this week and it's only Tuesday, so just a small rant to help ease me through the pain of it all...

One morning habit that still makes me smile...
Every morning part of my routine consists of making coffee, reading the news, checking email and signing into MSN. I don't even chat on it most days, but I still like to log on and see who's around and most of all to see what people's names and tag lines are. I find it fun to have such random and diverse friends from everywhere.
I have to admit though that sometimes I feel like MSN is this virtual world with real life social pressures. It's reminiscent of highschool really :P Like, sometimes when I am writing a tag line for whatever reason I feel this pressure to say something witty and cool; hahaha. Anyhow, half the time, I don't even know what people's tag lines are referring to, but at least they make me imagine funny things or situations or remind me of something else. Here's a sample of some of today's MSN list of taglines that made me wonder and/or ponder:
-I like Shrimp... It just don't like me....
-Love that Cocktail Circuit with the Ambassador...
-The early bird gets the...uhh... tequila worm
-Drinking and Deriving
-My method is uncertain, it's a mess but it's working...
-Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Cubicle
-How did it feel? It was awesome!
-Talent is a gift, Character is a choice
-You will be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not...
-I belieeeeeeeeeeve! I want to have Havlat's Children (tagged by a guy :P)
-Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? (Yes, I know some of you are singing the tune)
-Please pass the test little one
